Personal support contacts
Many people need someone for support. Whether it be due to a disability, age or having a small social network. A personal support contact can bring you along to different events or visit you at home. Personal support contacts are a service provided by the municipality.
Description
You can apply for a personal support contact if you need help staying active in your spare time or breaking out of isolation. The personal support contact will be remunerated by the municipality. You can meet in your home or go to a cafe or cinema or do some other activities together. Your interests and needs will determine what you do. The service can be provided individually or in groups.

Criteria/conditions
The municipality will work with you to determine whether you should have a personal support contact or receive any other services. Your needs and the needs of your family will be the deciding factor.

The decision letter will include the municipality’s reasoning, how the decision was reached, and who was involved in the process. The decision will be sent to you in writing.

The municipality must process your case as soon as possible. If a decision cannot be made within one month, you will receive written notification explaining the delay and an estimated time for a decision.
Possibilities to appeal; procedure
If you are dissatisfied with the decision, you can appeal to the municipality within three weeks of receiving it. Explain what you disagree with and why you believe the decision should be changed. If you need guidance, you can contact the municipality. If the municipality upholds its decision, the case will be forwarded to the County Governor, who will determine whether the appeal should be granted.
